Our season opener immerses us in a world of moonlit mysteries and fractured dreams. Bloch’s second violin sonata came to him after a night of feverish delirium, Rebecca Clarke evokes the Greek god of sleep, and Schoenberg’s sumptuous early masterpiece stands at the end of the great tradition of 19th century German Romanticism.
